Who we are:
The Bangladesh Center For Holocaust Studies was founded to offer an opportunity for the people of Bangladesh to learn about the Holocaust. As we experience the unprecedented rise in hate and mistrust, we must challenge the source of hatred and intolerance. The organization also strives to bring the real history of this tragic event in the face of Holocaust denial and distortion.
We believe that a systematic destruction of a group of people due to their race, religion or ethnicity is unacceptable. We also believe that hatred and ignorance can be challenged and transformed into coexistence and respect. In the era of information technology, people are exposed to diverse information that also includes messages of intolerance, hatred and violence. Initially, the Bangladesh Center for Holocaust Studies will provide online lessons for people to learn about this historical event. All the text about holocaust history will be in Bengali, which will make it easier for the Bangladesh native people to understand.
We are currently in contact with established Holocaust museums, experts and Jewish organizations to extend our activities in Bangladesh. The management is exploring possible locations in the capital city of Dhaka to build a facility that will contain a museum and a research facility. We also want to work with schools, colleges and universities in Bangladesh to teach our new generation about this tragic history. We are committed to playing a critical role in shaping legislation that will mandate Holocaust education in our public education system.
